The Beekman Youth Soccer Club is pleased to host the 8th Annual Beekman Cup Tournament on Columbus Day weekend October 11th (Girls)and October 12th (Boys), 2008. The tournament for Club teams will take place in Beekman on the Hudson Valley's best fields, approximately an hour north of New York City and 2 miles off the Taconic State Parkway. The tournament is sanctioned by the Eastern New York Soccer Association and USYSA. All USSF affiliated teams are welcome to attend. This includes US Club and USYSA teams.

IN-HOUSE/INTERTOWN INFORMATION

The Intertown program is designed to give the older, recreational player an opportunity to continue to play soccer. With the cooperation of surrounding towns, players get the chance to play teams outside of the Beekman program, without the competition and costs of playing on a travel team. The towns of East Fishkill, LaGrange, Wappingers and Poughkeepsie participate in the league, but individual age groups may not have each town represented, and some towns have more than 1 team in an age group. Travel is limited to these towns, and games are usually held on Saturdays.

Practice times vary according to each team. Play is 11 vs. 11 on the large fields, and home games and practices are generally held at Beekman Elementary School, Doherty Field, or Tymor Park, depending upon field availability and conditions.

Parents: In October, 2005, the US Youth Soccer Association launched an interactive online tool to assist parents as they support their youth athlete. Designed for parents in the game of soccer to aid their efforts in growing the spirit without limiting the child, The Parent’s Guide – An Introduction to Youth Soccer is an online self-exploratory exercise in enhancing the experiences of players and their families. Beekman Referees: Stay informed by checking the Hudson Valley Soccer Referee Association (HVSRA) web site.

East Hudson Academy: The East Hudson Youth Soccer League will be having tryouts for the East Hudson Soccer Academy in the fall. Stay tuned for details.

Attention: The Town of Beekman prohibits smoking and pets at Town Center Park, Doherty Park, and Beekman Elementary School.
