BYSC Club Select / Travel Program

The club select, or travel soccer program, is meant for those players who are more serious about soccer. For those players whose skills are improving and want to experience more competition, travel offers a more competitive environment than the recreational play of in-house teams. Playing against a wider set of teams with a higher level of skill, teamwork and dedication will expand the players’ view of what soccer is and what the player can be. Players practice twice a week and play against teams made of the best players from other nearby clubs. Travel players in Beekman receive additional professional training, attend tournaments outside of the regular season, and are the foundation of the Beekman Cup.

Teams are formed in the spring after tryouts are held. Players 7 and older can (should) consider trying out.

The Travel teams for the Fall /Spring season are formed and the schedules are published on the East Hudson Youth Soccer League web site.

Schedules have historically been formed using the following guidelines:

If 6 teams are in your division, you play the 5 other teams twice for a 10 week season (total of 10 games), no byes.
If 7 teams are in your division, you play 4 teams once, 2 teams twice (total of 8 games), have 1 or 2 byes and a 9 week season. This doesn't even add up and is messy. The league tries not to form any divisions with 7 teams.
If 8 teams are in your division, you play 5 teams once, 2 teams twice (total of 9 games) for a 9 week season with no byes.
If 9 teams are in your division, you play the other 8 teams once (total of 8 games) for a 9 week season and have 1 bye week.
If 10 teams are in your division, you play the other 9 teams once (total of 9 games) for a 9 week season with no byes.

Directions for Travel Games: (Please send us any that are missing!)

JFK SCHOOL (BREWSTER)
Take Interstate-684 north until it ends. I-684 becomes Route 22. Take Route 22 for about two miles. Drive past a Burger King (on your left) and the Red Rooster (on your right). At the next light, turn left onto Route 312. Drive about two miles. Turn right at the light onto Farm-To-Market Road. For the Middle School drive 100 yards and the parking lot entrance will be on your right. For the High School drive to the next light and turn right. The High School will be on your left.

From the north/west: Take the Taconic State Parkway south to Route Six. Turn left onto Route Six (eastbound). Drive into Carmel. After going around the lake Route Six makes a 90-degree right turn. Drive about two more miles. Turn left onto Route 312. Drive on Route 312 past the railroad tracks. At the next light turn left onto Farm-To-Market Road. Proceed as above.

East Fishkill Complex
Taconic State Parkway to the Route 52 exit (one mile north of I-84 junction). At the bottom of the exit ramp at the stop sign, turn left onto Route 52. Drive for a few miles. Go beyond IBM and John Jay HS (on your left). About one mile past John Jay HS the entrance for the Complex will be on your right.

From Beekman:

NY-55 East
NY-22 S towards Brewster - 2.7 Miles
Right onto NY-311 - 0.7 miles
Left onto South Street - 0.4 miles

From South: Route 684 North to Route 22. Route 22 North for 5 or 6 miles then make a left onto Route 311. Make a left turn onto South Street
From North: 84 East to exit 18 - Route 311 - make left of exit. Stay on Route 311 make right onto South Street.

CRANE ROAD FIELDS ( ROLLING MEADOWS )
Take Taconic State Parkway to Route Six exit. (From the north make a left at the end of exit ramp and from the south make a right) Drive East on Route 6 for about 7 -7.5 miles. Make the first left after the Valley Market and Gas Station onto Crane Road. If you come to the reservoir you went too far. Take Crane Road to Angela Drive (if you come to the Fire House you went too far). Turn right onto Angela drive. Fields are at the end of Angela Drive

GREENVALE PARK (POUGHKEEPSIE)

Take the Taconic State Parkway north to the Route 52 exit (one mile after passing under I-84). At the bottom of the exit ramp at the stop sign, turn left onto Route 52. Drive one mile. Turn right onto Route 376. Take care to stay on Route 376 (turning left at the "T" while facing the Van Wyck School. A few miles past the airport at a major intersection Route 376 makes a 90-degree right turn). Exactly .3 of a mile after passing the Irish Pub (on your right) turn right onto Toomey and make an immediate left into the Complex. At the "T" turn right. At the fork stay left as you enter the parking lot.

From Beekman, Take Route 55 toward Poughkeepsie and take a left onto Titusville Road at the Apple Valley Mall. Go past The Net and take a left at the light onto Red Oaks Mill Road. Take a right at the end and go across the bridge. Take a right at the next (Red Oaks Mill) light, which is 376/Vassar Road, so you're headed toward Vassar College. Exactly .3 of a mile after passing the Irish Pub (on your right) turn right onto Toomey and make an immediate left into the Complex. At the "T" turn right. At the fork stay left as you enter the parking lot.

East Coldenham School

I-84 west past Newburgh to exit 6. Make right at end of ramp onto route 17K west. Go 1/4 mile to second light. School is on the right.
