Beekman Cup - Rules

FIFA rules apply unless amended below

1. Coaches must present rosters, medical release forms and guest player identification cards at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the first game.

2. Game start times are firm--no grace periods. Teams not ready to start on time will forfeit games. Tournament Chairperson may amend kickoff times due to extenuating circumstances.

3. Division rankings will be computed with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

4. Tie breaking will be as follows:

Head to head win (excluded for more than 2 teams)
Most goals for
Fewest goals against
Goal differential
Best of 5 Shoot-Out
1 v 1 Shoot-Out

5. The duration of the game shall be 25 minutes. The start and stop of the games will be signaled by air horn by the field marshal or designated official. The referee will signal a short stoppage at approximately the 13th minute at which time the teams will switch ends. THERE WILL BE NO STOPPAGE TIME ADDED FOR ANY REASON. There will be no Championship games.

6. Officiating format is as follows:

U9, U10 and U11 Boys and Girls will use a single referee with volunteer parents as lines persons.
U12, U13, U14, U15 Boys and U18 Girls will use the 3-referee format with referee and two assistant referees.

7. Teams are strongly encouraged to participate in patch exchanges following each game.

8. A player or coach that is red carded from a game or ejected from the tournament grounds may not participate further in the tournament and no refund will be offered. The State Association will be notified. A player or coach receiving a third yellow card will also be banned from participating further in the tournament.

9. Substitutions may be made only with the permission of the referee prior to any stoppage in the game.

10. Forfeits will be scored as a 3-0 win. Any team intentionally walking off the field or intentionally not fulfilling its schedule commitments will be disqualified for the remainder of the tournament. No money will be refunded.

11. The home team for any match will change uniform colors when referee determines uniforms are too similar. During a playoff match, the team with the higher standings shall have choice of which shirt to wear.

12. Players, coaches, managers and supporters are expected to conduct themselves within the spirit pf sportsmanship at all times. Those failing to meet acceptable standards will be ejected from the grounds.

13. Pets, alcoholic beverages and the smoking of tobacco products are strictly prohibited from the grounds. No open flames of any kind will be allowed--violators will be ejected from the grounds. No solicitations from unregistered vendors will be allowed.

14. Players

U9 and U10 divisions will play eight a side including a goalkeeper.
U11 division will play nine a side including goalkeeper
U12, U13, U14, U15 and U18 divisions will play eleven a side including a goalkeeper.

15. Schedules will be mailed in advance if available but are subject to change. Coaches will be notified in advance if starting time is altered.

17. U12 and below will use a size 4 ball. U13 and above will use a size 5 ball.
