BYSC Coaches and Directors Manual - A PDF version of the Beekman Youth
Soccer Club Coaches and Directors Manual is currently being revised
Parent Information
All parents should be informed and aware of the
following...
- The BYSC is an all volunteer organization. We can always use help and
assistance with tasks and sepcial activities. Please encourage volunteerism
for our club!
- The monthly club meeting is always the second Thursday of the month, at
07:30PM, at the Beekman Town Hall. Soccer "business" continues
in the off months too. We encourage as many people as possible to participate.
- Hot Line is 223-2840. It is not attended. For faster response please email
a club board member.
- Cancellations.com is used for
any club wide email notifications
- Games Cancellation policy
- There are two methods fields can be closed.
- The BYSC and/or Town closes the fields due to poor field conditions.
- The referees call the game due to safety/weather issues (ie weather/lightning)
AT THE FIELD.
- The coaches/parents cannot cancel games. Above U6, the club still incurs
a referee fee. If games are canceled (at 9AM for inhouse, for instance)
that DOES NOT mean games are canceled for the day. The 10:30+ teams should
still play.
- And yes. Soccer is PLAYED IN THE RAIN! Unless explicitly canceled,
we will be playing!
- The BYSC notifies coaches/parents in several ways (for cancellations).
- We try to update the hotline by 8AM.
- We send out notice on cancellation.com (if you are registered).
- We TRY to send out a clubwide email.
- We update the website (www.beekmansoccer)
- Parent conduct
is to be signed and returned to you (the coach) to keep on file.
- Medical Form is
to be signed and returned to you (the coach) to keep on file.
- Injured players
- IH - parents will be called onto the field to attend injured player.
- Travel/LDT - coaches attend injured player.
- Shin guards are MANDATORY. period!
- Hard casts are NOT ALLOWED. period!
- All coaches/assistant coaches must be Risk
Management Certified to be with players.
- Every team should have 1 head coach and 2 assistant coaches - preferably
not related! This is to ensure that practices and games can always be covered
by a Risk Management certified
adult.
- Common sense:
- DO NOT drop off players if a coach/approved adult is not present
- Please come on time. Don't waste our coaches time being late.
- Please pick up on time. Coaches should wait until all players are
picked up by a parent or approved guardian.
- Please come prepared to play. Don't waste our coaches and other players
time being unprepared to play.
- Please keep the fields clean and trash picked up after your use. Even
if it's not yours, pick it up on way to the trash can. Everyone please chip
in to keep our fields looking nice!
